The Stories
The Story Of One Little Girl
Omphara was born with a congenital heart defect, which left her lacking energy and struggling to breathe by the age of two. Living in a rural village without access to adequate medical care, her young parents faced a harsh reality; many impoverished children like Omphara have a lower chance of survival. They also struggled with their own obstacles and fears, especially when considering sending their child to an unfamiliar city for treatment.
Tight-knit village communities often fear losing the protective familiarity of their surroundings when sending a child to a hospital, particularly one in the city. However, with our assistance and encouragement, they finally made the brave decision to allow Omphara to travel to the city and entrust the doctors to perform the necessary surgery.
Despite still needing ongoing medical care, Omphara is growing and recently felt incredibly excited to receive a new backpack and start school, eager to join other children. She has become a beacon of joy for everyone involved, touching our hearts with her resilience and spirit.
